Get to Know Me
Ellen Rich (she/her) is an actor, director, and creative based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is currently pursuing her B.A. in Theatre with a concentration in entrepreneurship from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), where she expects to graduate in the spring of 2026.
As a member of the UTC Theatre Company, she has worked on over 7 theatrical productions, gaining experience as an actor, director, and stage manager. She is the active vice president for the Omicron Phi Chapter of Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society, where she promotes student work, community outreach, and strengthens her campus community.
Her professional work as an actor and director has taken her from Chattanooga to North Georgia. When working on a new devised work with playwright Peggy Douglas entitled Unmasking: Elders Speak in 2023, Ellen got the chance to tell the story of influential journalist Pat Wilcox. Most recently, she has directed a TYA production of Fantastic Mr. Fox with Dalton Little Theatre this past June.
As a multi-hyphenate artist, she hopes to work with collaborators who value theatre that is accessible to all and tells stories that unite us. The rehearsal room is Ellen’s favorite place to be — where we can come together as artists, making heartfelt choices while being connected to the work and each other. The goal is to show artists and theatre goers alike that good art and good people can change the world, and hopefully make fifth-grade Ellen proud along the way.
